Employees supported the demand for resignation of SEBI Chairman

Business Business: The controversy continues in the stock market regulator SEBI. Many employees are demanding the resignation of SEBI chief Madhavi Puri Bukh. Against this backdrop, a group of disgruntled employees gathered around the SEBI headquarters on Thursday, demanding the withdrawal of Wednesday’s statement that blamed “external forces” for the protests.

Market regulator SEBI on Wednesday termed allegations of unprofessional and obscene work culture as “false” and said that issues related to House Rent Allowance (HRA) are being misled by external factors. SEBI’s statement comes amid reports that the regulator has written to the government expressing concern about toxic work culture.

In addition, regulators have expressed suspicion that lower level officials are receiving messages from external parties and are being asked to contact the media, ministries and delegations. They suspect that foreigners are doing this for their own purpose.

The market regulator said it was an anonymous email. The employees union itself has condemned the matter and informed the Ministry of Human Resource Development about it through email. The rift between SEBI officials has come at a time when IIM-Ahmedabad graduate Madhavi Puri Buch is surrounded by corruption allegations. Let us tell you that American short seller Hindenburg has made many serious allegations against the SEBI Director General regarding the Adani case. At the same time, Subhash Chandra of Zee Group called him a corrupt person. Apart from this, Congress also surrounded the SEBI Chairman.
