Tamil Nadu: A joint inspection by officials in various parts of Tamil Nadu detected 81 cases of power theft and collected a fine of ₹9.6 million.
The Tamil Nadu Electricity Distribution Corporation issued a statement in this regard: Officials conducted surprise inspections in the power distribution circles, including Chennai West, Coimbatore North, Salem, Krishnagiri, Tiruvannamalai, Theni, Villupuram, and Cuddalore, from February 1 to 15.
Of these, 81 cases of power theft and 12 violations were detected, and a fine of ₹9.643 million was imposed and collected.
Reporting Appeal: The Electricity Board has appealed to the public to report complaints related to power theft. Therefore, complaints can be reported for Chennai Enforcement Division at 9445857591, for Coimbatore Division at 9443049456, for Madurai Division at 9443037508, and for Trichy Division at 9443329851.
