New Delhi. The big news coming from the capital Delhi is that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) team has reached the house of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. High Court gave a big blow

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has received a big blow from the High Court. Kejriwal has not been able to get relief from ED’s arrest. Delhi High Court refused to stay the arrest of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and said that at this stage we are not willing to grant interim relief. However, the court sought response from ED on this new interim petition and postponed the matter for April 22.

Arvind Kejriwal had filed an application seeking interim relief in his petition challenging the ED summons. Kejriwal wanted the High Court to give him interim relief from arrest by ED. The court said that now this application has been listed along with Kejriwal’s main petition, which will be heard on April 22. The court has sought response from ED on this new interim petition. Kejriwal’s lawyer said that there is a need for protection from arrest in this case as the agency’s intention to arrest him (Kejriwal) is clear when elections are near.

The Chief Minister has consistently refused to appear before the agency, terming the ED summons as illegal. The case pertains to alleged corruption in the formulation and implementation of the Delhi government’s excise policy for 2021-22. This controversial policy was later rescinded. Following the recommendation of Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, the CBI registered an FIR in the alleged corruption case and on the basis of this, the ED started investigating the allegations of money laundering. In this case, ED has arrested former Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia and MP Sanjay Singh. Former minister Satyendra Jain is also in jail.
