ED raids coal trader here, said to be the kingpin of the scam

Ranchi: ED once again raided several places including the residence of coal trader Pramod Singh located in Saraidhela, Dhanbad city on Tuesday in connection with the 12-year-old scam in the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) in Jharkhand. During this, many documents, bank account details, property papers are reported to have been recovered. Earlier, many documents were recovered during the raid on July 4.

ED had sent summons to Pramod Singh for questioning on July 11, but he did not appear. Pramod Singh is said to be the kingpin of this scam. Let us tell you that Jharkhand’s Anti Corruption Bureau had registered an FIR against 10 people after the case of embezzlement of more than Rs 6 crore 97 lakh 43 thousand allocated for PHC (Primary Health Center) in the National Rural Health Mission in the year 2011-12 came to light.

It is alleged that he spent the money allotted for PHC by getting it transferred to his account. Pramod Singh used to work on contract in the health department and the money of 10 PHC accounts was transferred to his accounts. Money was also transferred to his wife Priya Singh’s account in a wrong manner. Pramod Singh was dismissed after the scam came to light, so he joined the coal business. On the basis of this FIR filed by ACB, ED has started action by registering a case of disproportionate assets and money laundering.
