ED in action in Sheikh Shahjahan case, investigation intensified

Kolkata: CBI has intensified investigation against TMC leader Sheikh Shahjahan who attacked ED officers. Now the investigating agency will interrogate all those people with whom Shahjahan had talked on phone before the attack. ED officials are confident that after this interrogation, it will be easy to reach the conclusion that how Sheikh Shahjahan planned to attack the ED and CAPF officers? According to sources, CBI has received information about two phone calls. These are the phone calls that Shahjahan made half an hour before the attack on ED officials.
These phone calls were made to ruling party MLAs and members of the three-tier panchayat system from two blocks of Sandeshkhali. Apart from this, Shahjahan had made some phone calls to some trusted people involved in his business. Sources said CBI officials are particularly curious about Sheikh Shahjahan’s call that lasted about 90 seconds to the ruling party MLA. The investigating officers are confident that by gathering information about the conversations held before the attack, some big secret will be exposed.
Earlier on Friday, CBI had raided the residence of Abu Hussain. Abbu Hussain is said to be a close and assistant of Sheikh Shahjahan. Abbu Hussain is the person with whom Shahjahan had talked before attacking the ED officials. ED had arrived on January 5 to conduct raids in the ration distribution scam worth crores of rupees, so that documents could be collected regarding the case. Meanwhile, Shahjahan attacked the ED officers.
