DSP gave the message of cyber security to the students

Raigarh. On the guidance of Superintendent of Police Divyang Patel, today Deputy Superintendent of Police (Cyber) Anil Vishwakarma made students and teachers aware of cyber crimes in the meritorious student felicitation ceremony organized at Vedic School. In the program, he said that nowadays cyber criminals are cheating people by adopting new methods, so online shopping, net banking and especially social media and online platforms should be used with utmost caution. He said that today’s era is digital and artificial intelligence (AI) based, so students should also adopt courses like AI, computer forensics, which have immense future prospects. Youth doing good work in the field of cyber forensics are in great demand at the national and international level today. The state government is also working a lot in this direction.

Vishwakarma said that at present cyber criminals are cheating people in new ways by misusing artificial intelligence. Cities are becoming more vulnerable to this because there is more use of online transactions and social media than in villages. He urged the students to be aware themselves and also tell their family and people around them ways to avoid cyber crimes.

Further DSP Vishwakarma told the students that the main methods of cheating by cyber criminals include hacking the account by clicking on unknown links or suspicious websites, making fake calls by posing as a bank officer or government representative and getting information about OTP and PIN, cloning profiles on social media and demanding money by posing as a relative or friend, grabbing money by giving fake offers in online gaming and shopping apps, and making people invest in crypto or stock market by luring them with huge profits. He also explained that cyber criminals often cheat people by scaring, luring or pressuring them to take quick decisions. Explaining the measures of prevention, he said that do not click on any unknown link, do not share OTP, ATM PIN and bank details with anyone, disconnect the call immediately on receiving a suspicious call, share your profile and personal information on social media with limited people only and in any emergency, contact the police or cyber helpline immediately. He also clarified that if any person becomes a victim of cyber crime, then without wasting time, immediately register a complaint on helpline number 1930 or register an online complaint on the government portal cybercrime.gov.in. In the program, Head Constable Durgesh Singh also threw light on cyber matters and said that self-awareness is the biggest weapon to protect against cyber crime. He appealed to the students to be alert and also make their family and acquaintances aware. On this occasion, school management, teachers, students were present in large numbers and received useful information to protect against cyber crimes.
