Raigarh. On the instructions of Collector Kartikeya Goyal, the drug inspectors of Food and Drug Administration Raigarh are regularly checking and inspecting the medical stores located in the entire district under the jurisdiction allotted to them. Under which, 54 medical stores were inspected during regular inspection in the month of October.
During the inspection, when irregularities were found in All is Well Medical Store in front of Asharfi Devi Women’s Hospital in Raigarh and Khushbu Medical Store located in Savitri Nagar Raigarh, purchase and sale bills of NDPS (narcotic) medicines were sought. The record of sales bills of NDPS medicines by both the medical stores was not found as per the rules and the sale of NDPS medicines was not done as per the rules. As a result of which, due to irregularities, show cause notices were issued to both the firms and their reply was sought. On not being satisfied with the replies submitted by them, action was taken to suspend both the medical stores for 10 and 15 days and a warning was also given of stern action if irregularities are found in future. The Drug Administration is continuously keeping a strict vigil on the sale of NDPS medicines and the purchase-sale bills are being verified regularly so that the improper purchase and sale of narcotic drugs can be banned.
