Drug factory busted, Mephedrone worth Rs 252 crore seized

Mumbai: Police has taken major action against drugs. The crime branch has busted an illegal drugs factory. This factory was working as a temporary factory to manufacture Mephedrone. Mephedrone worth Rs 252 crore seized from here.

It is being told that Mephedrone and other synthetic medicines worth more than Rs 5 thousand crore were also seized. Work was going on here for the last 8 months and no one was aware of it.

Police arrested four people including a female history-sheeter and a drug smuggler from the spot. Drug smuggler caught with 3.6 kg of mephedrone worth approximately Rs 7 crore. Unit 7 team of Mumbai Crime Branch had raided Irli village of Kavtemhakal taluka of the district on March 25. Crime Branch DCP Dutta Nalawade said that the total seizure is more than Rs 252 crore.

Police said that apart from Mephedrone, gold jewellery, cash and a luxury car were also found. Police said that 10 people have been arrested so far. This matter is being investigated seriously. The accused told the police during interrogation that these drugs were supplied in different parts of the country.
