The maximum temperature of Shimla has reached 31.7 degrees. Here, for the first time since the year 2014, the mercury has crossed 31 degrees. The weather has changed amidst the record-breaking heat in Himachal Pradesh. It rained in the state capital Shimla on Thursday afternoon. The weather has become cool due to the rain.
Last night, light snowfall was recorded on the peaks of Lahaul. The Meteorological Center Shimla has predicted rain in many parts of the state for a week from today. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a forecast of rain in many areas of the state from May 30 to June 5. It may rain in most areas on June 1. A yellow alert has also been issued for thunderstorms in many parts from May 31 to June 2.
This change in weather is expected due to the western disturbance. Relief from the scorching heat is expected. On the other hand, scorching heat continues in the plains and low altitude areas. Even today, a yellow alert of heatwave has been issued for these areas. On Wednesday, for the first time, the maximum temperature in Una was recorded at 46.0 and 46.3 degree Celsius in Neri of Hamirpur. The record of 11 years and 35 years in Dharamsala was broken due to the rise in temperature in Kangra and Solan including the Queen of Hills Shimla.
On Thursday, eight out of 12 districts of the state were in the grip of heat wave. Temperatures have also risen in Chamba, Lahaul-Spiti and Kinnaur, but heat wave-like conditions have not yet developed here. In Una, the highest temperature of 45.2 degrees was recorded in May 2013, June 2005 and June 2019. This was also the highest maximum temperature in the history of the state.
