Driver killed as 2 trucks collide head-on in Odisha’s Jajpur district
Jajpur: In a tragic incident, the driver of a truck was killed after 2 trucks collided head-on in Jajpur district of Odisha on Tuesday. The accident took place on the Sahapur Bridge under Panikoili Police Station limits.
As per reports, one side road was closed for repairs on the Kharasrota River Bridge near Sahapur on the National Highway and traffic was being diverted on the other side.
Meanwhile, a fruit-laden truck and another truck collided head-on on the Kharasrota River Bridge this morning. As a result, one truck driver died on the spot while the other driver was trapped.
On receiving information, police and fire brigade personnel reached the spot and rescued the injured. The injured driver has been shifted to the district headquarters hospital for treatment.
Due to this accident, the national highway has been closed, with thousands of vehicles stranded on both sides.
