Cuttack: In a heart-wrenching incident, a woman and her infant died on Wednesday while undergoing treatment. On Tuesday the woman poured kerosene and tried to kill self along with her three-month old infant due to family disputes in Atoda village under Jagatpur police limits in Cuttack district.
The woman has been identified as Suchismita. Police has detained her husband and is carrying out an enquiry in the matter.
On Tuesday evening, she shut the doors of her house from inside and poured kerosene on herself. Her infant daughter was also present in the house. The duo were rushed for treatment. Suchismita was being treated at a private hospital while the infant was admitted in NICU.
She had married two years ago. Her family has alleged that she was being tortured for dowry. The couple mostly had fights added her family.
