The incident took place on Sunday 24 November 2024 at around 4:05 pm. A street dog was sleeping on the edge of the divider on the road connecting Junwani Road and DMart Bypass. Meanwhile, the driver of a car CG 07 CT 3678 came at high speed and ran over the dog.
This caused the dog to get stuck in the front wheel of the car, but the driver did not stop the car. He dragged the dog for 500 meters and then stopped the car and took it out. After this, he left it writhing there and fled. As soon as the information was received, the local people immediately reached the spot and took the dog for treatment. He died after writhing in pain for a few hours there.
