Documentary on sacrifices in the language war: Minister releases it.

Tamil Nadu: Information Technology and Digital Services Minister Palanivel Thiaga Rajan launched a documentary and a dedicated website to help people learn about the sacrifices made during the language struggles.

The Tamil Online Education Corporation, functioning under the Tamil Nadu Department of Information Technology and Digital Services, has created a documentary book titled ‘Uyir Nigar Tamil,’ which chronicles the history of the Tamil language’s development and the language struggle. They have also launched a dedicated website with the same name, featuring an e-library containing documents, books, magazines, and photographs related to the language struggle.

In this regard, Minister Palanivel Thiaga Rajan participated in a function held at the online education institution on Tuesday and released the ‘Uyir Nigar Tamil’ book and inaugurated the dedicated website. R. Balakrishnan, President of the World Tamil Research Institute, received the document and delivered a special address.

This book will be immensely helpful in understanding the history of the Tamil language struggle, the sacrifices made during the language movement, and the root causes of the decline of the Tamil language. Officials of the Tamil Online Education Corporation stated that the documents, books, magazines, etc., uploaded on the e-library website will serve as evidence for creating many more such historical works.

The event was attended by R. Komagan, Director of the Tamil Online Education Corporation, journalists A.S. Panneerselvam, P. Thirumavelan, Azhi Senthilnathan, and researchers Karunanidhi Arumugathamilan, P. Saravanan, A. Vennila, and Shankar Saravanan, who served as advisors in the creation of the book.
