A function to distribute free textbooks and stationery to government school students was organized by Tamil Nadu Children’s Association at a private marriage hall in Orikai, Kanchipuram.

The function was presided over by Sangam District Organiser Sivaprakasam. District Administrator K.Shankar presided over the function. Another District Administrator E.Shankar welcomed the gathering and delivered a speech. Kanchipuram DSP Shankar Ganesh attended the function and distributed lesson notes to 300 government school students and delivered a speech:

It has become common for school students to use their mobile phones excessively. It is very sad news that some people cannot live without their mobile phones even when going to the toilet. We even see them sleeping with mobile phones near their pillow.

It has become a habit for many people to check their mobile phones as soon as they wake up in the morning, whether they brush their teeth or not. Only good things can be taken from mobile phones. If you use mobile phone for bad things, you will not even realize that time has passed. You will become lazy instead of being active. Understand that this is also an addiction. If school students stay away from addiction, their future life will be sweet. Youths should keep company with only good friends. If you have bad friends, they will unknowingly take you on the wrong path. He said that children should not hesitate to tell their parents or teachers about the problems they face at a young age. There should be no hesitation in this.
