Tamil Nadu: PMK leader Anbumani Ramadoss has appealed for an investigation into the irregularities in all departments of the Tamil Nadu government, including the municipal administration and water supply departments, and for cases to be registered.
He issued a statement on Monday:
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has sent evidence of irregularities worth ₹1,020 crore in the municipal administration and water supply sector to the Director General of Police of the state. They have also requested that cases be registered. The ED has also provided evidence of irregularities worth ₹888 crore in employment generation within that sector.
Documents related to these irregularities were found during raids conducted by the Enforcement Directorate in several parts of Tamil Nadu last April. Recently, there have also been reports of irregularities in awarding sanitation contracts to private parties in the Chennai Corporation.
This information is contained in the documents sent by the Enforcement Directorate.
Therefore, based on the evidence provided by the Enforcement Directorate, the Tamil Nadu Police Department should immediately register cases and conduct an investigation. He said that steps should be taken to bring those involved in the irregularities to justice and ensure that they receive stringent punishment.
