District court grants bail to Rahul Gandhi in defamation case

UP. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has got bail in the defamation case. He appeared in the local court of Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday. He was summoned by Sultanpur court in a defamation related case. The matter is about 6 years old. Actually, Rahul had made a comment against Home Minister Amit Shah in 2018. Calling this comment a case of defamation, BJP had filed a case against Vijay Mishra. Hearing is to be held today in this matter only.


Jairam Ramesh had tweeted – Today is the 38th day of Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra. Today the yatra will start from Fursatganj in Amethi district at 2 pm and move towards Rae Bareli and Lucknow. In the morning, Rahul Gandhi will be in the District Civil Court of Sultanpur, which has issued summons to him 36 hours in advance to appear in a defamation case filed by a BJP leader in the month of August 2018. Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra will continue. Neither Rahul Gandhi is going to remain silent nor is the Indian National Congress going to get scared.
