Dimapur holds NVBDCP review meet

DIMAPUR: The monthly district review meeting under the National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP) was held at the CMO’s Conference Hall, Dimapur on Friday, chaired by Dr. Ayangla Saku, District Programme Officer, CD-I. As June being observed as Anti-Malaria Month, the meeting emphasized intensifying prevention and control activities through community outreach and awareness campaigns.

Key discussions included strengthening awareness and mobilization, timely surveillance and reporting, uninterrupted supply of essential commodities, coordination between supervisory and field staff, and maintaining quality standards in laboratory services.Kikolul Khieya, UVBDS Dimapur, sensitized staff on proper insecticide mixing for focal spraying, stressing that the chemical must first be made into a paste before dilution to ensure effectiveness.
Heanglih T. Konyak, DVBDC Dimapur, presented a comparative review of case trends and highlighted the roles of SIs, MIs, SWs and MTS in programme implementation.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Imnapokim, Joint Director & State Programme Officer, NVBDCP Nagaland, along with Dr. Kavito Zhimomi, Deputy Director, and Imsubenla, PH & Training Consultant, who provided technical guidance and programmatic support.
Their participation underscored the State’s commitment to aligning district efforts with national malaria elimination targets, enabling direct review of performance and reinforcing strategies for surveillance, case management and vector control.
The meeting concluded with a renewed pledge from all participants to scale up malaria control measures during Anti-Malaria Month and translate technical guidance into effective grassroots action.
