Mumbai: A recent post by Diljit Dosanjh has left the internet divided over the ‘Punjab vs Punjab’ controversy. Following the trolling, the global music sensation has taken a moment to slam the trolls and teach them a lesson. Recently, the ‘Lover’ hitmaker shared a video announcing his Chandigarh concert at X. The artist captioned the post as ‘Punjab’. Several social media users started calling out Diljit for the spelling, stating that Punjab is used by Pakistani territory.
Also, several users noted that the Indian tricolour flag was missing and started accusing Diljit of hatching a conspiracy. Following the allegation, Diljit Dosanjh wrote a note telling the trolls straight and addressing the ‘conspiracy theory’. Speaking on X, the artist shared an old post, in which he added the Indian tricolour while referring to Chandigarh, Punjab. Shutting up trolls, he wrote, “Punjab, kisi ek tweet me agar Punjab ke sath Bharat ke jhanda ka mentesh raha toh saajish. Bengaluru ke tweet me bhi ek jah reh gaya tha mention karna.
Agar Punjab ko Punjab likha, to conspiracy. Punjab ko chahe Punjab likha, Punjab Punjab hi rahega. (If I forget to mention the flag of India along with Punjab in a tweet, you make a conspiracy. I forgot to mention it in the Bengaluru tweet as well. If I write Punjab as Punjab, then conspiracy. Even if we write Punjab as Punjab, Punjab will remain Punjab).”
