Digital tokens have changed the picture of paddy procurement.

Raipur. Paddy procurement in Chhattisgarh is becoming a means of prosperity for farmers. The state government’s highest support price for paddy and a transparent digital system are providing direct and immediate benefits to farmers. The digital token system implemented at paddy procurement centers has made the procurement process simple, easy, and completely hassle-free.

Mahendra Yadav, a small farmer from Gram Panchayat Indarpur, who came to sell paddy at the Rampur paddy procurement center in the Ambikapur development block, praised the digital system and said that he has a total paddy acreage of 120 quintals. He obtained a digital token for 60 quintals of paddy from the comfort of his home through the Kisan Tuhar Token app. Yadav said that now he no longer has to visit the committee for tokens, saving time, labor, and additional expenses.

He reported that upon arrival at the procurement center, all necessary procedures, including moisture testing, were completed promptly, and gunny bags were also provided on time. The weighing process was completely streamlined, and there was no inconvenience during the paddy sale. Farmer Mahendra Yadav said that the purchase of paddy at the rate of Rs 3100 per quintal by the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has provided a major economic boost to the farmers. He said that last year he bought a motorcycle with the income earned from the sale of paddy. Currently, he is expanding his farming and is also cultivating wheat, pulses, oilseeds and vegetables, due to which his income is continuously increasing.

Farmer Yadav expressed satisfaction with the smooth, transparent and farmer-friendly system of paddy procurement and expressed gratitude to the government and administration.
