Differences in Karnataka BJP will end soon: CM Bommai

Dakshina Kannada (IANS) | Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Thursday said senior BJP leaders are talking to disgruntled leaders and the discontent will end soon. Talking to reporters here, the CM said that with the release of the second list of candidates, there is a need to announce the candidates for the remaining 12 assembly seats.

On various leaders leaving the BJP, Bommai said that switching parties has become very common in politics. CM Bommai further said that the dissident leaders were convinced. Whatever dissatisfaction is there in the party, it will be removed soon. The party workers are strong, which will not cause much damage. The discontent in most parts of the districts will soon be over.

The CM said that he is talking to seniors and the party high command. Former Deputy Chief Minister Laxman Savadi should protect the faith of the people, he said, adding that there was no truth in the allegations leveled by MLA Nehru Olekar.

Responding to a question, Bommai said that the high command is talking to the dissident leaders and he has also spoken to them. He said, soon the estrangement will go away. Savadi is a senior leader and has been in politics for a long time. Savadi is under pressure from the people, but it takes time.

Bommai also claimed that the Congress will not come to power as it does not have candidates for around 60 to 65 constituencies and hence they are “importing candidates from other parties”.
