Raipur. In compliance with the instructions of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, Director General of Police Ashok Juneja held a virtual meeting of all Range Inspectors General of Police and Superintendents of Police on Wednesday and thoroughly reviewed the law and order situation in the state. He instructed the officials to keep a close watch on this.
In the meeting, DGP Juneja has given instructions to keep vigil in the border areas to prevent illegal transportation of paddy from other states in the state and also to conduct intensive checking of vehicles passing through the check post. Instructions have been given to coordinate with the District Collectors and form a joint team as per the requirement of the Revenue, Food and Cooperation Department and take effective action to prevent illegal transportation of paddy and also to ensure continuous police patrolling in the border areas. The DGP has asked the Superintendents of Police to keep a close watch on the people involved in criminal activities and hooliganism in their respective districts and also to completely control the incidents of illegal buying and selling of liquor, gambling, betting, narcotics, chain snatching and stabbing. Instructions were given to take strict action against the persons involved.
Keeping in view the property related crimes along with visible policing, DGP Juneja reviewed the night patrolling and police patrolling and asked to increase police mobility and take strict action against goons and anti-social elements. He has instructed the Superintendents of Police to deploy police forces at crowded places like hotels, markets, temples or other places while maintaining law and order in the programs organized on the occasion of arrival of New Year.
