raipur news. Farmers and people of Sahu community from across the state gathered in Raipur regarding the death of Prashant Sahu, a farmer of Loharidih village of Kawardha district, in custody. During this, a large number of farmers and members of the society reached Jayastambh Chowk and paid tribute to Prashant Sahu under the statue of martyr Veer Narayan Singh.
In protest against the incident, farmers marched on foot from Azad Chowk to Jayastambh Chowk. The protesters have demanded a judicial inquiry into the death of Prashant Sahu, compensation of Rs 1 crore to the victim’s family and a government job to a family member.
Farmer leader Ashok Kashyap said that Prashant Sahu, son of a farmer of Loharidih village of Kawardha district, was brutally killed in police beating in jail. Therefore, to get him justice, demanding an inquiry from a High Court judge, giving compensation of Rs 1 crore to the family of Prashant Sahu along with a government job, prima facie the culprit is the Superintendent of Police responsible for the system there. The jailer is responsible for the murder that took place in the jail. We have met the Chief Minister in this matter. The Chief Minister has assured action. Today we have paid tribute to Prashant Sahu by taking out a public awareness rally regarding the incident.
