Delhi: Two more arrested in connection with the murder of two sisters in RK Puram

New Delhi (IANS) | South West Delhi’s R.K. Two more people have been arrested in connection with the murder of two sisters in Puram in the early hours of June 18. The new accused have been identified as Kishan alias Chowdhary (27) and Ganesh Swami (39), both residents of Sector-12 R.K. He is a resident of Puram.

Arjun, Michael and Dev were arrested by the Delhi Police on Sunday, hours after the murder.

Pinky (30) and Jyoti (29) had come to their brother’s house in RK Puram on June 14. Police said that his brother Lalit had some money-related dispute with Dev.

Police said, Dev used to work with Lalit and had borrowed money from him. However, Dev starts working with Sonu in the locality. Last night, Lalit went to Sonu’s house to demand his money back, which was followed by a heated argument. Later Sonu and Dev threaten Lalit.

A few hours after the incident, around 2:30 am, Sonu, Dev, Arjun, Michael and others gathered outside Lalit’s house, in which Arjun was the leader of the group. They started pelting stones at Lalit’s house and broke open the door with an iron rod. Seeing this, both the sisters of Lalit tried to calm the matter by intervening.

Police said, the assailants took out pistols and started firing indiscriminately. Lalit fled the scene, while his two sisters sustained bullet injuries and fell on the road.

The police received a PCR call at around 4:30 am informing that two women had been shot in Ambedkar Basti. Pinky and Jyoti were taken to Safdarjung Hospital, where they later died.

Initially, a case of attempt to murder was registered under sections of the Arms Act. Subsequently, IPC section 302 (murder) was added to the charges.

Police raided several places in the area and arrested the three accused. Later two more accused were arrested.
