New Delhi: Delhi Police has tightened security arrangements in view of the India Block rally to be held at Ramlila Maidan. Complete preparations have been made including screening at every gate and deployment of paramilitary forces around it to ensure smooth conduct of the event. Delhi Police has issued some guidelines for the protest, which states that there will be no march in Central Delhi, no tractor trolley will be brought and there will be a complete ban on weapons. “Elaborate security arrangements have been made so that the general public does not face any inconvenience due to the rally,” a senior police officer said. Also, the traffic police has issued an advisory regarding diverted routes in view of the incident. According to the advisory, normal traffic movement will be controlled. From 9 am to 3 pm, Ranjit Singh Flyover from Barakhamba Road to Guru Nanak Chowk, Minto Road to Roundabout Kamla Market, Hamdard Chowk, Vivekananda Marg, Delhi Gate to Guru Nanak Chowk and Ajmeri Gate to JLN Marg, Chaman Lal Marg. , Traffic may be restricted from Guru Nanak Chowk to Turkman Gate. The advisory further states that traffic diversion can be imposed at Rajghat Chowk, Minto Road, DDU Marg, Mirard Chowk, Paharganj Chowk, A-Point and Delhi Gate from 9 am. The traffic police requested commuters to avoid plying these routes if possible, especially making maximum use of metro services. The traffic police officer said, “Also, the general public is advised to keep adequate time while planning road journeys through the above mentioned roads and junctions. “Those heading towards ISBT, railway station or airport are advised to plan their journey carefully with adequate time.”
