Delhi Police arrested the man who shot his live-in partner’s mother last week
The Delhi Police has arrested an accused who shot dead his live-in partner’s mother on April 8 at DBG Road in central Delhi. The accused was absconding after committing the crime. Police said the accused shot the mother of his live-in partner when she intervened in the couple’s quarrel over a petty issue. According to the police, on April 8 at around 6 pm, the DBG Road police station received information about a firing incident at Dhobi Wali Gali, Gaushala Road, Siddhipura, Delhi. A police team immediately reached the spot and found bullet marks on the shoulder of the woman (40). He was shifted to a hospital. After preliminary enquiry, a case under IPC section 307 and 25/27 Arms Act was registered at DBG Road Police Station and investigation was initiated against the accused person. Keeping in view the sensitivity of the matter, a dedicated team of Anti-Auto Theft Squad (AATS) along with a team from DBG Road Police Station was pressed into action and tasked to nab the culprit. Preliminary investigation revealed that the name of the alleged person is Alok and he was living in a live-in relationship with the daughter of the injured woman. On the fateful day, there was a dispute between Alok and his companion over a small matter. The injured woman had come to settle the matter among themselves, but Alok got angry with this, a heated argument ensued and in a fit of rage fired at her, injuring the woman. Further investigation revealed that Alok was a desperate criminal and repeat offender, so to avoid his arrest, he was not using any means of communication other than Instagram. Technical surveillance was increased and after concerted efforts AATS/Central team was able to get his new Insta ID through his close friends. The team further worked on technical points and tracked the location of the accused person to an OYO Hotel in Rithala area of Delhi. Taking all precautions, the team raided the place and nabbed him from the hotel room. Further during the search of the room, one sophisticated country made pistol (used in the crime) along with 05 rounds was recovered. During interrogation, he confessed to his crime and disclosed that he had a fight with his girlfriend and when his accomplice’s mother came to settle the matter, he argued with her and in a fit of rage took out the illegal gun. He was taking her and fired, the bullet hit his shoulder after which Alok fled from the spot. Since then he was staying in different OYO hotels and was constantly changing locations. He further disclosed that he was on parole in a case under Section 307/34 of Arms Act and 25/27 PS Aman Vihar, Delhi and was about to surrender in jail but could not do so due to non-availability of his lawyer. , the police said.
