Bengaluru: Tech-savvy Srinivas was arrested by a special team of Delhi Police from his home in Brindavan Extension, Mysore city. He is accused of sending several threatening emails to various locations, including government offices, schools, and courts. The emails sent by the accused turned out to be fake.
Regarding the threatening emails, the Cyber Economic and Narcotics (CEN) police in New Delhi registered a complaint from a judge and took action to trace the sender. Acting on a strong lead, a special team of Delhi Police, in collaboration with the Vani Vilas Mohalla police in Mysore city, located the accused in Brindavan Extension.
The accused was produced before a court in Mysore and will be taken to Delhi on a transit warrant for further investigation. While searching his home, police found the accused, who is said to have used Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), making his identity difficult to ascertain.
However, using advanced technology, the police eventually located the source and arrived at the scene. Police seized a laptop and several SIM cards from his home. The accused lived with his mother in Brindavan Extension, while his brother lived elsewhere.
