Delhi Delhi News: Amritpal Singh, lodged in Dibrugarh jail in Assam and Engineer Rashid, lodged in Tihar jail in Delhi, reached Parliament on Friday to take oath as MPs. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla administered the parliamentary oath to both the newly elected members. Amritpal Singh, a prisoner lodged in Dibrugarh jail in Assam, was elected from Punjab’s Kadur Sahib Lok Sabha seat, while Engineer Rashid, lodged in Tihar jail in Delhi, was elected from Baramulla in Jammu and Kashmir. Let us tell you that in the recent first term of the 18th term of the National Assembly, 539 out of 542 newly elected representatives took oath. However, Amritpal Singh and Engineer Rashid could not take oath during the hearing due to being in jail. New members of Congress will have to take oath within 60 days or lose their membership.
