Christmas preparations have also been completed in St. Paul’s Cathedral Church, one of the oldest churches of Chhattisgarh in the capital Raipur, where a grand celebration of the birthday of Lord Jesus Christ will be organized at exactly 12 o’clock tonight. The tableau of the birth of Lord Jesus has been made in the church. The image of the child Jesus with Mother Mary is being presented in a hut made of grass along with animals (sheep and cows).
The church building is decorated with colorful lights, balloons, flowers, moon, stars, Christmas tree. It is believed that Lord Jesus was born at midnight. Therefore the Christmas festival is celebrated at midnight. In the capital Raipur, the message of the birth of Lord Jesus will be given by staging plays in more than two dozen churches including St. Paul’s Cathedral Church in Civil Lines, St. Joseph’s Church in Baranbazar, St. Matthew’s Church in Dangania on Christmas Eve. After this, the cake will be cut and fireworks will be done at midnight.
