Raipur. The Supreme Court today rejected the petition of the Central Government challenging the CAT order to reinstate IPS GP Singh. After this decision of the Supreme Court, it has now become a compulsion for the Central Government to reinstate GP Singh.
Let us tell you that after the arrest on charges of disproportionate assets and treason, the Central Government had given compulsory retirement to GP Singh on 21 July 2023 and expelled him from service. GP Singh had challenged this decision of the Central Government in CAT. From where GP Singh got relief, but a case of intimidation, disproportionate assets and treason was registered against him. In November this year, the High Court had directed to cancel the FIR registered against GP Singh.
Meanwhile, on the basis of CAT’s direction, the state government had sent a proposal to reinstate GP Singh to the Union Home Ministry, but the Union Home Ministry had challenged the CAT decision in the Supreme Court, on which the decision has come today.
