Auraiya: A woman, seriously injured in a land dispute in Bhaisol village, under the Phaphund police station area of Auraiya district in Uttar Pradesh, has died during treatment. She succumbed to her injuries at a hospital in Saifai on Monday. Police have deployed police to address the tension in the village following the incident. Police have also initiated the process of increasing the number of charges in the case filed following the woman’s death.
According to reports, the incident occurred late on June 22, 2026. Meena Kumari, the aunt of Roshni’s husband, Shiv Ravindra, filed a complaint with the Phaphund police station. According to the complaint, Meena Kumari had gone with Shiv Ravindra to a wedding ceremony at the Niharika Guest House in Phaphund town. Roshni was home with her children at the time.
It is alleged that at around 12:00 a.m., Shiv, Brijendra alias Chhotu, Rajkumar, Rajni, and several other unidentified individuals from Ghasara village arrived at Roshni’s home. The accused entered the house and attacked Roshni and her children with an iron rod. Several family members were injured in the attack, with Roshni suffering serious injuries.
Upon learning of the incident, family members rushed to the scene and all the injured were transported by ambulance to the Community Health Center, Dibiyapur, for treatment. After providing first aid, doctors referred Roshni to Saifai for better treatment due to her critical condition.
According to family members, Roshni had been undergoing treatment in Saifai for several days, but she died during treatment on Monday. Upon receiving the news of the woman’s death, the family was devastated. The incident sparked tension in the village, prompting the police administration to deploy police forces as a precaution.
Police officers arrived at the scene to assess the situation and appealed to the villagers to maintain peace. Police say they are maintaining vigilance to prevent any untoward incident.
Phaphund Police Station in-charge Ajay Kumar stated that a case had already been registered and an investigation was underway. The injured woman, Roshni, died during treatment in Saifai. Necessary charges are now being added to the case.
The station in-charge stated that preliminary investigations have revealed a land dispute as the cause of the incident. Police will take further action based on the post-mortem report, medical evidence, and other facts. He added that based on whatever facts emerge in the case, strict action will be taken against the culprits as per the law.
