DCM inaugurates EAC office
Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein inaugurated the EAC office here in Lekang circle of Namsai district on Tuesday, in the presence of Lekang MLA Jummum Ete Deori, Namsai DC CR Khampa, ZPC Nang Urmila Mancheykhun, Lekang EAC T Eze, panchayat leaders, GBs, and others.
The newly established office is fitted with internet facilities, and is poised to streamline all necessary government services for the benefit of the people.
The DCM said that “e-governance is one of the focus areas of the government for ensuring transparency, quicker delivery of public services, and for corruption-free government,” and urged the DC to “make the government offices in the district paperless by implementing e-file system from this year onwards.”
Mein also asked the EAC to “maintain a ‘plastic-free zone’ and ‘no tobacco zone’ to ensure prohibition of littering in the premises.”
Referring to the EAC office as “one of its kind,” the DCM commended “the efforts of the MLA” and thanked former chief secretary Naresh Kumar and former planning commissioner Prashant Lokhande, under whose supervision the office was constructed.
Mein also lauded the PWD “for quality works and completion of the building on time.”
