Dalit Simha Garjana, to be held in Rajahmundry on February 11, is a movement led by Vijay, in-charge of Cuddapah district of Andhra Pradesh. During the unveiling of the Dalit Simha Garjana poster, Vijay expressed disappointment over the current government for removing 26 schemes that benefit the Dalit community.
Vijay said that previous governments had given loans at concessional rates to Dalits, but the present government has not given even a single loan. He claimed that although the government claims to give priority to education, in reality it is denying the right to education to poor students. He also highlighted that housing and education benefits have been reduced, hindering Dalits from pursuing higher education.
Vijay criticized the allocation of seats in the new medical college in Cuddapah district, alleging that instead of allocating seats to deserving candidates, half of them were being sold. He also criticized the use of SC sub-plan funds for the Amma OD scheme as inappropriate.
Vijay said that the state government did not use its funds to build the statue of Ambedkar. He further said that Dalits had expected a better situation under the leadership of Chief Minister Jagan, but they have been disappointed after the appointment of Tirupati.
The event saw participation of Dalit leaders, activists and members of various organizations from Cuddapah district.
