Hyderabad: Nagarkurnool District Collector Hemanta Keshav Patil has urged residents to follow India Meteorological Department (IMD) advisories and take necessary precautions as an orange alert has been issued for Nagarkurnool district from 8.30 am on November 2 to 8.30 am on November 3.
Heavy to very heavy rainfall, thunderstorms and strong winds are likely during this period, with wind speeds expected to reach 60–90 kmph. A yellow alert has also been issued for November 3 and 4.
Residents have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel, stay away from trees, electric poles and hoardings, and avoid open areas during lightning. People living in low-lying areas have been asked to remain alert, while livestock should be kept in safe places.
