Cuttack: With the aim to inspire the future generation and instill a sense of leadership in the minds of the youth, the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) is going to launch a new and innovative student engagement program “One Day with Commissioner,” informed CMC Commissioner Kirandeep Kaur Sahota today.
According to Sahota, a student from any school under Cuttack Municipal Corporation jurisdiction under this program will get the opportunity to work with the Commissioner for a day.
Interested students can apply for this through the Google form available on the website of Cuttack Municipal Corporation from tomorrow itself, the CMC Commissioner added.
Students who want to take part in the ‘One Day with Commissioner’ programme will have to give a written test of 50 marks. In this, they will have to choose one of the five subjects given and write an essay between 800 and 1000 words in Odia language and upload that essay as a file less than 1 MB in size on the website.
This apart, the candidates will have to participate in 10 categories of various co-curricular activities like the NCC, Scouts and Guides, NSS, Social Awareness Work, Red Cross, Achievements in Sports, New Projects in Science, Discovery of New Systems, Cultural and Innovative Work, Digital Literacy and Cyber Awareness Programs, Participation in Disaster Management Awareness and Workshops on First Aid, Speech, Music, Dance, Art, Acting, National Cleanliness Campaign, Voter Awareness Program, Traffic Awareness Program, Leadership in School Committee or Club etc.
The selected students will be present at the CMC Commissioner’s office and will see the city management and administrative work closely and participate in the review meeting.
Not only that, they can also experience the awareness and transparency about city management, and visit the remaining management-related centres.
The ‘One Day with Commissioner’ programme will help students dream, develop a sense of responsibility and attract them towards civil service, said the Cuttack Municipal Corporation Commissioner.
