Cultural diversity makes us rich and powerful: Governor Deka

Raipur. Under the ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ program, the foundation day of 05 states and union territories including Chhattisgarh was celebrated today at the Raj Bhavan. On this occasion, Governor Ramen Deka said that cultural diversity makes us rich and powerful.

The foundation day of the states of India, namely Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana and the Union Territory of Chandigarh, was celebrated with great enthusiasm under the chief hospitality of Governor Deka at the Raj Bhavan. Under the Central Government’s “Ek Bharat-Shrestha Bharat” program started on the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, all the states are celebrating the foundation day of each other’s states to promote the spirit of unity in diversity. In this connection, this program was organized at the Raj Bhavan. In which the people of these states residing in Chhattisgarh participated with enthusiasm.

In the program, Governor Deka said that the objective of the ‘Ek Bharat-Shrestha Bharat’ program is not limited to cultural exchange only. This program is a wonderful effort to unite the residents of different states of our country, which will further strengthen the unity and integrity of India. Deka said that the foundation day of every state is an important day in the history of that state and in its journey of development. This day, which is a witness to the prosperity and development of the state, shows us the way to successfully fulfill the basic objectives of the establishment of our state and fulfill the aspirations of the people.

Deka mentioned the specialties of all the states. He said that the natural environment and geographical position of Chhattisgarh is amazing. There is a lot of potential for tourism here. He said that efforts will be made to promote tourism between the states of Assam and Chhattisgarh. He also praised the rice of Chhattisgarh. Underlining the important role of Madhya Pradesh in the freedom struggle, he remembered the brave fighters there. He mentioned the generosity of the people of Punjab state. The history of Punjab is full of sacrifices, which every countryman is proud of. The states of Punjab and Haryana gave a new energy to the country through the Green Revolution.

Deka said that all these states have made an unprecedented contribution to the development of India. Whether it is the field of agriculture, industry, art, sports, education or tourism, the contribution of these states in all fields is commendable. We all have to together make our states not only economically strong but also take care of cultural prosperity, social harmony and mutual brotherhood. In the program, students of various universities gave a colourful presentation of cultural programs based on the culture and folk tradition of all the states. Chhattisgarh’s folk dance Sua, Sarhul dance, Gedi Nacha, Punjab’s Bhangra, Giddha, Haryana’s Ghoomar and the Rai dance of the tribes of Madhya Pradesh captivated the guests.

The Governor presented the state towel and souvenir to the representatives of various states. They also honored the Governor by presenting souvenirs on behalf of their states. The representatives of Punjab presented a turban to Deka.
