Crimes against women are on the rise in Tamil Nadu: AMMK alleges.

Tamil Nadu has emerged as one of the states with the highest incidence of sexual crimes against women.

AMMK General Secretary TTV Dhinakaran has leveled this allegation. He issued a statement on Tuesday:

In Thirumangalam, near Chennai, a DMK lawyer has been arrested on charges of sexually abusing a 13-year-old girl over a period of five years.

The DMK party leadership has consistently turned a blind eye to crimes committed against women—whether occurring in schools or on airplanes—a stance that has emboldened individuals associated with the DMK to continuously engage in criminal activities. Over the past five years, Tamil Nadu has become one of the states recording the highest number of sexual crimes against women.

In his statement, he asserted that it is imperative to reclaim Tamil Nadu from the DMK in the upcoming elections; the DMK has cast serious doubts upon the safety and security of women from every section of society—ranging from newborns to young girls.
