Court dismisses anticipatory bail plea of Srinivas

Bengaluru (IANS) | A Bengaluru court on Friday acquitted Indian Youth Congress (IYC) president Srinivas B.V. The anticipatory bail plea of Srinivas has been accused of harassment by Angkita Dutta, former IYC chief of the Assam unit. Judge KS Jyothisree of a Bangalore court rejected his bail plea. After this, the danger of arrest is hovering over Srinivas. Senior advocate K.N. Phanindra said that the dignity and honor of the complainant has been hurt, and the victim has recorded her statement before the court under section 164.

The Special Public Prosecutor of Assam objected to the anticipatory bail plea of Srinivas and argued in favor of the Assam Police. After Angkita Dutta filed a complaint of harassment, the Assam Police reached Srinivas’s Bengaluru residence. Sources said a team of Assam Police, including a senior IPS officer, visited Bengaluru. Recently, an FIR has also been registered against Srinivas at Vidhana Soudha police station here for obstructing the duty of election officials. According to the police, Srinivas obstructed the search and inspection of election officials during a meeting held at a hotel in Bengaluru on April 23. Srinivas allegedly did not cooperate with the officers and argued with them.
