To ensure the availability of high quality inputs such as fertilizers and seeds for the farmers of the district in Kharif 2025, the Agriculture Department is running an intensive campaign and continuously inspecting the private and cooperative establishments of the district. In this sequence, for the continuous supply of fertilizers, a surprise inspection of the sales establishments of the district was done by the fertilizer inspectors on 11 July 2025, a total of 20 sales establishments, including 8 sales establishments of development block Durg, 4 sales establishments of Patan and 08 sales establishments of Dhamdha. During the inspection, the license of the establishment, all documents – wing register, bill book, fertilizers available for sale in the establishment were matched with the POS machine and observed. During the inspection, on finding violations of the provisions of the Fertilizer (Control) Order, 1985 in Om Krishi Kendra Anjora (B), Sinha Traders Anjora (B), Chandrakar Traders Machandur of Development Block Durg and Burhani Agro Industries Khapri of Development Block Dhamdha, seizure action was taken in total 4 sales establishments.
On finding violations of the provisions of the Fertilizer (Control) Order, 1985 in total 9 sales establishments, including 05 sales establishments of Development Block Durg, 01 sales establishment of Patan and 3 sales establishments of Dhamdha, show cause notices have been issued and instructions have been given to submit a satisfactory reply within 03 days. A demand of 27768 quintals was sent to the Seed Corporation for supply of quality certified seeds to farmers in the district as per demand in the Kharif season, against which 29489 quintals of seeds were stored in cooperative societies and 28604 quintals of seeds were distributed to farmers. At present, 603 quintals of seeds are left for distribution in cooperative societies, the Agriculture Department appeals to the farmers to lift the saved seeds available in the cooperative societies as per their requirement. To ensure availability of quality fertilizers, seeds and pesticides to farmers, field inspectors under the Agriculture Department have been directed to continuously inspect agricultural exchange establishments.
