Public Relations Webdesk | According to the Meteorological Department’s alert, heavy rains are continuing in Uttarakhand. Heavy rains have affected normal life due to water-logging and landslides at many places. CM Pushkar Singh Dhami took stock of the situation arising out of rain by reaching the disaster control room and instructed the officials to remain in alert mode.
The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for heavy rains in many districts of the state till June 26. According to the alert of the Meteorological Department, the process of heavy rain is going on in the state. The rains affected normal life in capital Dehradun, Haridwar, Pauri, Uttarkashi and Tehri districts. Roads were blocked at many places due to debris. JCB machines of the administration were engaged in clearing debris from the obstructed roads and normalizing the traffic. On the other hand, in Dehradun and Haridwar, people had to face a lot of trouble due to the filling of rain water at various places.
CM Pushkar Singh Dhami took stock of the situation arising due to rain by reaching the disaster control room. It was the Chief Minister who took information from the officials about the relief work being done in view of landslides and water-logging. In view of the onset of monsoon in the state, the Chief Minister directed the officials to remain in alert mode keeping mutual coordination.
There has been heavy rain in Kedarnath Dham as well. In view of the rain, devotees were not allowed to go beyond Sonprayag and Gaurikund on Sunday morning. The administration said keeping in view the safety of the pilgrims, the pilgrims would be allowed to proceed further only when the weather clears up. In view of the Chardham Yatra, CM Dhami has instructed the officials to take extra vigilance. On the instructions of the CM, the administration is taking all precautionary measures.
