Constable suspended for molestation, misbehavior with woman complainant

Bengaluru, (IANS) | A police inspector attached to Kodigehalli police station in Bengaluru has been suspended for allegedly molesting and misbehaving with a woman complainant. Officials gave this information on Wednesday. Sources have said that the Karnataka Police Department will also file an FIR against the accused Rajanna. The Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) of Yelahanka sub-division had submitted a report in this regard to South-East DCP Lakshmi Prasad.

The accused had allegedly repeatedly sent unwanted messages to the woman on WhatsApp. The woman has claimed in her complaint that when she was called to the police station, the accused inspector gave her a cover full of dry fruits and a room key.

The victim had approached the Kodigehalli police last month about being duped of Rs 15 lakh. Inspector took his mobile number and after a few days started chatting with him. Unable to tolerate the torture of the inspector, the woman complained to the jurisdictional DCP in this regard.

After this the DCP ordered an inquiry into the incident and asked the ACP to investigate and submit a report. Police sources said the action was taken as per the directions of Bengaluru Police Commissioner Prathap Reddy.
