According to the information received, after receiving information about Naxalite activities in village Kodomali, Ichradi, Gariba, Sahbinkachhar forest area of inter-state border area adjacent to police station Shobha under district Gariaband, on May 16, a joint team of STF and District Force raided village Kodomali, Ichradi of Shobha police station area. , was on an anti-Naxal operation in Ghazimuda, hilly area.

During this time, a camp of Naxalites of the banned Maoist organization CPI Maoist was seen in the forest near village Gariba. Seeing the police party coming towards them, the Naxalites took advantage of the forest and ran away. After reaching the spot, the police force conducted a thorough search of the area where the Naxalites attacked with the intention of killing the common people and security forces. Three IEDs (bombs) were seen which were destroyed on the spot by the BDS team of the police force, foiling the conspiracy of the Maoists.
