Raipur. During the discussion on grant demands in Chhattisgarh Assembly, Congress MLA Umesh Patel cornered the ruling party on Mahtari Vandan Yojana and paddy procurement. Referring to Mahtari Vandan Yojana, the MLA said that it was understood from the supplementary budget that it will be given only to 30 lakh women, from which it is estimated that 70 lakh women will be cheated by this government.

Umesh Patel said that the provision of Rs 1200 crore was mentioned in the budget for BJP’s flagship scheme ‘Mahtari Vandan Yojana’. He said that if we consider this as the supplementary budget till March, then the provision that has been made, and according to his calculations, it is Rs 300 crore in one month. And from this supplementary budget it was understood that this will be given only to 30 lakh women, from which it is estimated that 70 lakh women will be cheated by this government.
