Raipur. A case of embezzlement of 23 lakhs has also been registered in the housing society against Congress leader Rakesh Bais, who cheated lakhs of rupees on the pretext of getting a job a few months ago. According to DD Nagar police, Rakesh Bais and wife, Basant Kripa are members of the Home Construction Committee. Rakesh’s wife Alka has been the president from 15-4-20 to 5-5-23.
Meanwhile, Alka withdrew a total of Rs 23 lakh from the committee’s account on different days. Last evening, on the complaint of Mahesh Aggarwal of the committee itself, a case was registered against Alka in DD Nagar police station under sections 420, 406, 34 for cheating in trust.
