Congress leaders attack BRS leader for supporting BRS party

Political tensions have flared up in Konthanpally village of Shivampet mandal. The incident of Congress leaders Chintala Venkataramireddy, Tekulapalli Ravinder Reddy and Kalakanti Venkatesh attacking senior BRS leader and husband of former MPTC of Konthanpally Akula Srinivas for supporting the BRS party during the recent Gram Panchayat elections has created a stir.

According to the details given by the victim, Akula Srinivas, while he was doing agricultural work in his field, three Congress leaders came there in a car, spoke abusively to him, threatened him to join the Congress party and attacked him all at once. On this occasion, he alleged that they tied the towel around his neck tightly and beat him and took his car away. Srinivas stated that he was attacked because he supported BRS politically. Akula Srinivas filed a complaint against the three Congress leaders at the local police station regarding this incident.

Later, he spoke to reporters along with his followers and said that the ruling party leaders are trying to intimidate the opposition leaders using their influence. He said that in a democracy, everyone has the right to support the party of their choice and we strongly condemn any attempts to undermine it. He demanded that the police strictly stop the atrocities of the ruling party leaders and take appropriate action against the attackers. SI Madhukar Reddy said that a case has been registered and an investigation has been started into the incident.
