Congress leaders and workers continue protest at Master Canteen square

Bhubaneswar: The leaders and workers of the Congress party are continuing their protest at the Master Canteen chowk in Bhubaneswar of Odisha. The protest by Congress had begun in front of the Assembly yesterday night.

As per reports, Congress party leaders and workers protested against the suspension of 12 Congress MLAs for seven working days from the Assembly.

Even today morning it has been seen that the protestors are either sitting or lying at Master Canteen. It has been learnt that they have been sleeping on the road since last night.

According to information, 12 Congress MLAs have been suspended from the Assembly for 7 days for repeatedly behaving in a disorderly manner inside the house. They have been suspended from the Assembly after the ruling party complained about disrespect to the Speaker, indecent behavior in the Assembly and violation of the rules of the Assembly.

Concerned about the repeated disorderly behavior of Congress MLAs while the House proceedings were in progress, the government party chief, Saroj Pradhan, had proposed the suspension of Congress MLAs yesterday afternoon. As a result, 12 out of the total 14 Congress MLAs were suspended for the next 7 days.
