Lucknow. Ahead of the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, the Congress party has accelerated efforts to strengthen its organization. On Monday, the party allocated region-wise responsibilities among newly appointed Congress secretaries and co-in-charges for the UP Congress. State Congress in-charge Rajendra Pal Gautam issued an order to this effect, assigning specific regional responsibilities to all the office-bearers. This decision is viewed as a move to mobilize the organization at the grassroots level prior to the upcoming assembly elections.
The Congress has divided the state into various regions and assigned responsibilities to its newly appointed office-bearers. Under this arrangement, Abdul Hannan has been given charge of the Awadh region, while Kunal Chaudhary has been entrusted with the Braj region. Varun Chaudhary will work to strengthen the party organization in the Prayagraj region, and Jagdish Chandra Jangid has been assigned the Bundelkhand region.
Similarly, Abhishek Dutt has been given responsibility for the Purvanchal region, while Sanjeev Arya has been entrusted with Western Uttar Pradesh. The party leadership has tasked all office-bearers with activating the organization in their respective regions and accelerating Congress activities.
Focus on the Organization Ahead of Elections
With the assembly elections in sight, the Congress is continuously striving to strengthen its organization within Uttar Pradesh politics. The party leadership is emphasizing the activation of the organization down to the booth level and fostering better coordination among party workers. Following the allocation of regional responsibilities, the concerned office-bearers will now drive the party’s activities forward in their respective areas.
Uttar Pradesh is a politically crucial state for the Congress. To perform well in the assembly elections, the party faces the challenge of strengthening its presence across different parts of the state. Assigning regional responsibilities to office-bearers is an attempt to make the organization more accountable.
According to party sources, the leaders assigned regional responsibilities will need to establish coordination with the local organization. Additionally, the focus will be on assessing the organization’s status through meetings with district and block-level workers and increasing activity in weaker areas. Responsibilities Divided Across Six Regions
Taking into account the state’s geographical and political landscape, the Congress has distributed responsibilities across six key regions. Abdul Hannan has been entrusted with the responsibility for the Awadh region. This region encompasses several important districts, including Lucknow, and holds significant political importance.
Kunal Chaudhary has been assigned the responsibility for the Braj region. Strengthening the organization in the Braj region—which covers a large part of Western Uttar Pradesh—will be crucial for the party. Varun Chaudhary has been given charge of the Prayagraj region; this area plays a pivotal role in the politics bridging Eastern and Central Uttar Pradesh.
Jagdish Chandra Jangid has been tasked with strengthening the party in the Bundelkhand region. Bundelkhand has long been a subject of political discourse due to issues such as development, employment, and migration; consequently, revitalizing the organization in this area will be a priority for the Congress.
Abhishek Dutt has been assigned responsibility for the Purvanchal region. Purvanchal holds a large number of assembly seats and plays a critical role in the state’s electoral politics. Meanwhile, Sanjeev Arya has been entrusted with the Western region. The party will need to ramp up its activity to expand the Congress organization in Western Uttar Pradesh as well.
Plans to Enhance Communication with Party Workers
Following the allocation of regional responsibilities, the primary challenge facing the newly appointed Congress office-bearers will be to mobilize party workers and foster better coordination within the organization. During election preparations, it will also be crucial to understand local issues and align them with the party’s state-level strategy.
The party leadership aims to accelerate organizational activities simultaneously across different parts of the state. To achieve this, the leaders in charge will need to undertake frequent tours of their respective regions, engage with party workers, and gather feedback on the party’s standing at the local level.
Efforts to Implement Electoral Strategy on the Ground
This organizational reshuffle within the Congress is viewed as a significant step toward implementing the party’s electoral strategy on the ground ahead of the assembly elections. Intensifying party activities across the state and assigning clear responsibilities to office-bearers will also establish accountability.
All eyes will now be on how effectively these Congress leaders manage to energize the organization in their respective areas after being assigned region-specific responsibilities. Party activities are also likely to pick up pace at the district and booth levels in the coming days.
For now, responsibilities for six key regions have been finalized following directives from State Congress In-charge Rajendra Pal Gautam. These office-bearers now face the challenge of strengthening the Congress organization in their respective areas, mobilizing party workers, and laying the groundwork for the upcoming assembly elections.
