Congress had made Irman Masood its candidate from the same seat in 2019 also. Then Imran Masood was in third place. Imran was once counted close to Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi. However, he left the party before the 2022 UP elections. After leaving Congress, he joined BSP via SP.
