Conductor and passengers helped deliver a baby girl in TGSRTC bus in Hyderabad

Hyderabad. Hyderabad: In a heartwarming incident, Shwetha Ratnam gave birth to a baby girl in a moving TGSRTC bus, grabbing everyone’s attention. Shwetha, who was travelling in a 1Z route bus from Musheerabad depot, experienced intense labour pain when the bus reached near Bahadurpura. The bus conductor R. Saroja immediately took action and alerted other female passengers, who helped her deliver the baby safely in the bus.

Both the mother and the baby were immediately shifted to a nearby government maternity hospital, where they are reported to be healthy. The commendable efforts of the female passengers and conductor Saroja were acknowledged and praised by TGSRTC MD VC Sajjanar, IPS.

This heartwarming incident is the second such incident since the launch of the Mahalakshmi scheme, which has been beneficial for women in such unforeseen circumstances. Recently, in another instance, women staff at a bus depot converted a waiting room into a temporary delivery room, showing the dedication and promptness of TGSRTC personnel to help at crucial moments.
