Bhubaneswar: Due to the increasing traffic in Bhubaneswar, Commissionerate Police, under the leadership of Commissioner of Police, Sanjeeb Panda, and DCP, Prateek Singh, launched an initiative to tackle the issue.
In collaboration with the Traffic Training School and with their guidance, the Taj Vivanta group, Bhubaneswar DN Square, part of IHCL and Tata Group, has introduced a Corporate Traffic Warden Volunteer Program.
This program expands on the hotel’s ongoing CSR activities, where employees volunteer a few hours each month. Located near NH16, the Taj Vivanta team has already been involved in distributing helmets and promoting traffic safety awareness. To make these efforts more impactful, the program has been formalized into a year-round initiative.
As decided, all employees will take turns working with the Bhubaneswar Traffic Police to promote road safety and discipline.
In the first phase of this program, 25 employees have been trained at the traffic Police Training school, Bhubaneswar. These volunteers will now assist the traffic police five days a week, with 8 employees helping each day to regulate traffic.
The Corporate Traffic Warden Volunteer Program not only supports the efforts of the traffic police but also strengthens the community’s commitment to creating safer roads.
