CM Yogi paid tribute to Govind Ballabh Pant

UP: Today is the 137th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Pandit Govind Ballabh Pant. On this occasion, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday paid floral tribute to the statue of Pandit Govind Ballabh Pant. During this, CM Yogi said that the work done by Pandit Govind Ballabh Pant for undivided Uttar Pradesh and for the internal security of the country will always be remembered. After garlanding the statue of Pandit Govind Ballabh Pant, he said that his tenure as the first Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and Union Home Minister was very successful.

Pandit Govind Ballabh Pant was a great freedom fighter. On the call of the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, he left his good practice and joined the freedom movement. He participated in the movement, endured the torture of jail, but never deviated from that movement of freedom. This was the reason that due to the contribution made by him during the freedom movement, the continuous struggles, he was entrusted with the responsibility of the Chief Minister of the country’s largest state Uttar Pradesh in independent India.

He served as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh till 1954. To take the state forward at that time, to provide basic facilities to the public, he prepared a detailed action plan to provide education, health and infrastructure as per the time, on which our Uttar Pradesh of today is based. CM Yogi further said that in 1954-55, Pandit Govind Ballabh Pant was appointed as the Home Minister of the country. During this time, his efforts to make Hindi the official language are very incomparable. The reforms done by him in the revenue sector still provide justice to the poor.

CM Yogi said that I pay my humble tribute on behalf of the state government and the people of the state on his holy birth anniversary, saluting the memories of such a great son of India for laying the foundation stone of development works in Uttar Pradesh.
